The SportsPlex Training Center by FitnessJim features a comprehensive array of group and personal fitness programs. The FitnessJim team is composed of Jim Weddle, Terry Molloy, and Darlene Overholtzer. They can be reached at (301) 662-7922. Among their many programs are the following:

Frederick Soccer, a full service sports retail store for the soccer enthusiast, is managed by Raffi Tatarian. Raffi and his brothers Hrant and Sean, have owned and operated Rockville Soccer for more than six years on Route 355 in Rockville. Frederick Soccer opened at SportsPlex in May 2000. Raffi also serves the needs of the roller hockey, volleyball, and lacrosse communities. Raffi also has special prices for team shirts with numbers and logos. Champs Grille, offers tasty food for the entire family. It is managed by BJ Mofil, who has built a reputation for good food and good service. A wide variety of choices are available including salads, wraps and soft serve ice cream. They also do free delivery! Call them at 301-695-7300

The SportsPlex is continuing to add amenities for its visitors. Among these many planned programs are the following:

Study rooms for students, including high speed internet access.

Leasing Space at the SportsPlex

The Frederick SportsPlex offers a unique opportunity for businesses to grow their customer base. Each day, an average of 1,000 sports-oriented visitors use the SportsPlex. If you locate your business in our facility, they will also be visiting your business! Visitors to the SportsPlex are active youths, adults and active seniors. While their focus at the SportsPlex is sports, they also share important demographics -- such as high disposable income -- that appeal to all businesses.

Many businesses will naturally gravitate to the SportsPlex. They include personal trainers, coaches, and other professionals who interact regularly with the athletes at the SportsPlex. Yet many other businesses -- from medical facilities to teenage tutoring -- will find excellent value in cultivating the SportsPlex patrons.

The SportsPlex offers four different areas for rent within the building:

Ground Floor, Main Retail Mall. This space is fully leased.
Ground Floor, Front Offices. This area is reserved for sports teams, associations, and sports-business offices. These offices are 12 feet wide, have 8-foot acoustic ceilings and outside windows.
Second Floor, Mall Mezzanine. This is the principal spectator area and also hosts team and party rooms. These areas are being constructed with 20-foot ceiling heights, creating balconies or lofts.
Second Floor, Front Offices. These offices are 12 feet wide, but they can have 20-foot high ceilings, and all exterior windows. They have great views overlooking the fields and will be used primarily for professional offices.

All of these areas are rented on a "full service" basis, which includes our furnishing heat, air conditioning, electricity and all Common Area Maintenance (CAM) charges. Tenants are responsible for only the interior cleaning of their offices. All rental areas are finished with carpeted floors, painted sheetrock walls, and area lighting.
