Assistance and Outreach ~ CCCC meets with community organizations, schools, businesses and individuals to discuss responsible waste management practices and to assist with or facilitate the development and implementation of litter reduction, recycling and Keep Prince George’s County Beautiful projects. We provide referral information for hard to resolve litter problems/concerns and outreach services at community festivals and parades, the County Fair, and Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning festivities, etc. CCCC helps communities identify and develop ways to recruit volunteers for roadside litter pickup, recycling and beautification projects and opens doors to self help opportunities for communities seeking assistance.

Education ~ CCCC looks for opportunities to visit schools and/or to provide opportunities for students to get involved in litter reduction, recycling and beautification projects. The Prince George’s County public school system has approved two, 8-minute slide/video presentations, "Litter & You" and "Recycling & You," for kindergarten students that help them to understand the importance of proper waste management practices. Fun ~ "Trash Bashes" are games held around the County for children, ages 4-12, as a way for them to learn about recycling and keeping their community litter free. Thousands of children enjoy these games each year at Kinderfest, Earthfest and Trash Bash Olympics. For a copy of "How to Hold a Trash Bash," please see the order form.
