I would like to thank you, once again, for your continued support of our area guides
projects. I've attached some information designed to bring you up to date on our progress
toward the goal of building a complete community guide network for this area.
The most important point I would like to make is the fact that we're just getting started!
The Internet is in the wild wild west stages and you, together with us, are on the cutting
edge. A friend of mine, who also grew up in the area, compared our construction of a
network of Internet based community guides for this area to the construction of the
Washington D.C. beltway in the '60s. Back then, to area residents and businesses, the
beltway was a marvel. It changed lives, rearranged the lay of the land, created new
businesses, and changed old ones forever. Like the Interstate highway system of that era,
the Internet is here to stay and will only continue to grow and change the way we do
business.
You're our partners! When we asked you to join us as a site sponsor we
made some commitments to you. First, we promised you a key listing location on the
Business & Services menu for your particular area guide. In addition, we promised not
to increase your annual rate for ten years. We also gave many of our first clients
enhanced webpages for the price of a standard webpage (a savings of 1/3) and waived all
setup charges a savings of at least $100. We did all this because those of you who sign up
in the early stages of this project must suffer through our construction dust. And,
although we're making good progress and the sites are coming along, there's a long way to
go.
On a quarterly basis we'll be sending you updates on our progress and, as always, please
feel free to call me anytime with questions or comments. I'll take off my hardhat and go
to a quiet place so we can talk.
